Kid's Shell App - safe phone corner for running only approved applications on your phone or tablet Android device

We are dads. And we love gadgets and our kids. So we are creating mobile apps for our kids. For all TechMafia dads and moms we prepared a little present.

This post is dedicated to all owners of mobile devices based on the operating system Android:
  • Parents who have small children up to 7 years
  • To all those who have nephews and nieces
  • All those who regularly gives its Android device to child

Very often, after the device has been in the hands of the child, it returns in not good condition. Child run any third-party application, change the settings, send SMS and make calls to someone else.

So we have developed a Kid's Shell — safe phone corner for running only approved applications on your phone or tablet Android device

The shell is placed as a normal application and runs on top of the shell installed on the phone, and monitors all undesirable actions and launches.

We will try to block all that is possible:
  • launching applications
  • incoming calls
  • settings
  • launching applications from the lisy of last running applications (when you long press Home)
  • hardware keys (even dial key — first Android phones have such)

After installing the application and its configuration Kid's Shell appears. On the desktop you can put applications that allowed to run. Before giving a child's phone, configure your application in the «parent mode»

So when you press «Home» a child cannot exit the application, you need to check the «Remember my choice by default» and choose from a list of Kid's Shell. Now when you press the «Home» the child will return to Kid's Shell.

Now switch to the «Child Mode» and give the phone to the child.

If a child or an application tries to execute an invalid action, a screen locked.

The application is free and optimized for tablets and phones.

Yes. I think this app is definitely better than its competitors in the Play Market.

Since a lot of «free» applications have an «advertising monitization» it might be a problem to show them to the children Is this application designed to care about this situation?
